Fresh from hearing the exhilarating news of the record low prices reached in the bid in the state of Andhra Pradesh, where SunEdison won the entire 500 MW at Rs 4.63/Wh (approx 7 US cents/kWh), India’s power minister Piyush Goyal is understandably on a high.
So high he has asserted that he would like to see the price of solar at Rs 4 per kWh (about 6 US cents/kWh).
This statement, had it made a few years back, would have made people think that the minister was delusionary; but today, at the pace at which solar power costs and tariffs have been plunging worldwide, such a statement appears almost unambitious!
Such a nice information thank you so much for sharing this post.
